I discontinued my enrolment in a research course a few years ago due to various reasons but now I have the time and the motivation to continue my research. Is this possible?

Yes. You have to complete the PR Form (domestic) or FR Form (international)

If you are continuing your previous research, you need to attach a timeline for your completion. If you are coming from another university, you need to attach the documents listed in "I am currently enrolled in a research program at another university and I would like to transfer to QUT. What is the process?"

If you are starting a new research topic and the gap from the date you withdrew is more than 3 years, as a domestic student you will be entitled to your full Research Training Scheme (RTS) entitlement. If the gap was less than 3 years, your previous enrolment will be taken into consideration in determining your new RTS entitlement.
