QUT has one major scholarship round per year for domestic postgraduate research students. This closes in mid-October of each year and is open to commencing and continuing domestic postgraduate research students.

The 2008 rate for the following scholarships is $20,007 per annum for full-time students

The current Institute stipend rates are between $25,000 and $36,000. Please check with the Research Students Centre to confirm your specific stipend rate.

There may be some exceptions to these award rules and rates for scholarships that are offered out of the major round, or scholarships that are nominated by Faculties, so if your scholarship is not one of the above, please check with your Faculty regarding the rules and rates that apply to your scholarship.

QUT has one major scholarship round per year for international postgraduate research students. This closes on 30th September of each year.

Australian Postgraduate Awards Industry (APAI)

This award supports collaborative research and development projects between QUT and industry partners. The current APAI stipend rate for those commencing the award before 2005 is $25,872pa and $26,140pa for students commencing the award from 2005 and onwards.

Write Up Scholarship

A QUT postgraduate research student who is ready to submit or has just submitted their thesis for examination may apply for this scholarship. They can be awarded to write up the thesis based on Examiner Reports or for writing up publications after lodgement of their thesis for external examination. Recipients would normally not be enrolled when in receipt of this scholarship. If you have been made course complete, please realise that your scholarship will end and that you are no longer eligible for this scholarship.

QUT Masters Scholarship

This scheme was offered in 2007 as a one year award of $19,616 per annum tax exempt. The QMS was for students who commenced their Research Masters degree by June 2007 and are expected to complete a thesis for examination by June 2008. Faculties nominated students and will fund them with a fifty percent contribution to the award.

Vacation Research Experience Scholarship

This scholarship is for high performing QUT undergraduate students who are interested in having a funded research experience over summer semester. Successful applicants will be working with experienced researchers and will receive a living stipend.
