In 2009, the Australian Technology Network (ATN) of universities launched a fully online pathway of postgraduate courses to meet the career needs of researchers and professional research administrators. The courses are designed to enhance career and global networking opportunities. Under the Australian Government's Commercialisation Training Scheme (CTS), scholarships are available to eligible research higher degree students wishing to study the Graduate Certicate in Research Commercialisation.
Each ATN university offers online units within all the courses. This allows you, during enrolment, to network with students from across Australia and the world.
The courses are all delivered online and are ideally suited to busy professionals seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in research commercialisation and management. The course covers areas including:
The aim is to focus on creating high level research and development skilled professionals. This course gives researchers and research managers extensive opportunities to explore research and development practices through review of current literature and sharing of international best practice.

Students are required to complete 4 units, over 1 semester full time or 2 semesters part time. On completion of the Graduate Certificate, students can enter the Masters with advanced standing. With advanced standing you could then complete the Graduate Diploma (1 semester full time; 2 semesters part time) and/or Masters (2 semesters full time or 4 semesters part time).
Students who have graduated from the Graduate Certificate can continue onto the Master of R&D Management. After completing an additional 1 semester full time or 2 semesters part time in the Masters, you may exit with the Graduate Diploma; or, after completing an additoinal 2 semesters full time or 4 semesters part time, you may exit with the Masters.
Student who have graduated from the Graduate Certificate (1 semester full time; 2 semesters part time) and/or Graduate Diploma (2 semester full time; 4 semesters part time) may continue onto the Masters of R&D Management (3 semesters full time or 6 semesters part time).
Applications are invited from international and domestic students. Please note that as an online course, it is not possible for international students to obtain a student visa to study the courses full time on campus.

Students with appropriate prior qualifications and/or professional experience may apply for advanced standing of up to 48CP towards the Master of R&D Management.
The DEEWR funded Commercialisation Training Scheme (CTS) offers a limited number of scholarships, covering tuition fees and a living stipend, to assist current Doctoral or Research Masters students to complete the Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation. Potential Graduate Certificate applicants wishing scholarships should review the CTS Scholarship guidelines.
