Faculty Guidelines and Application Forms

This scheme provides financial support for students nearing the end of their studies, to attend an international conference where they are to present a paper. Grants may be for interstate or overseas travel.

The applicant must be the principal author of the paper being presented. A statement will be required from the supervisor that the paper being presented covers original, ongoing research, is largely the candidate's own work, reports recent findings, and is directly related to the applicant's thesis topic.
Applications must include a budget for the proposed trip and how it is proposed to fund the trip as the grant rarely covers all costs.

It should be noted that normally the Grant-in-Aid funds will be made available after the travel ticket has been purchased.

As competition for the grants is keen, the success of the application should not be assumed, and applicants are strongly advised to plan for their proposed travel well ahead of time, as retrospective applications for funding will not be considered.

Applications for both schemes must be made on the appropriate form and for most faculties close on 30 March and 31 October each year. Late applications will not be accepted.

For application forms and further information, please contact your Faculty Research Administration Officer.
