Before your arrive in Australia

Your first day on campus – Please bring your offer letter, passport and current visa

  • Visit International Support Services to:
    • Attend your compulsory orientation induction
    • Hear about ISS services and support
    • Receive advice on Student Visas and Work Permits
    • Receive advice about banking in Australia and the Australian Taxation Office
    • Receive an Enrolment Form
    • Download Factsheets that might be useful to you
  • Visit your Faculty Research Support Centre or talk to a FRAO (Faculty Research Administration Officer) to:
    • Complete your Enrolment Form
    • Arrange your workspace
    • Arrange your computer support
    • Meet your supervisor
  • Visit the Research Students Centre to:
    • Submit your enrolment form
    • Submit forms for the commencement of your Scholarship (if you have a scholarship)
        • Bring your Australian banking details
        • Bring your tax file number (if you have one already)

After you have your enrolment processed

  • Bring your passport and your current visa or e-visa grant letter
  • Visit the Student Centre at your home campus to:
    • Get your Student Card
    • Show your passport and visa or e-visa grant letter
    • Check if you OSHC is ready to be collected
    • If you are now enrolled, you may proceed with applying for your work permit
  • Visit the Library to:
    • Activate your student card in order to gain access to all your QUT student resources
    • Meet your Liaison Librarian

Language and Learning

  • Use the services offered by the Language and Learning Services to help with your academic English requirements
  • Use the services offered by the Teaching and Learning Support Services (TALSS) to assist with university study requirements.
  • Attend workshops and seminars offered by the Research Students Centre
