As a current student here are the requirements that you need to meet during each year. We hope that the following forms and advice will help you during your candidature. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

Confirmation of Candidature

Within one year full time or two years part time you are required (PhD Regulation 12) to undertake a Confirmation Seminar and apply for Confirmation of Candidature (Frequently asked questions on Confirmation). Successful completion of this requirement is an important milestone and is integral to the research training experience at QUT. Training is available to assist you in planning and preparing to meet this milestone. (Education Block Programme Dates)

Annual Progress Report

The Annual Progress Report round for 2008 is NOW OPEN. Reports can be submitted online through QUT Virtual and are due for ALL higher degree research students by 30th September 2008.

You need to work with your supervisor to ensure that you meet the requirement (PhD Regulation 11) to report annually (in August/September) on the prescribed form to the Research Degrees Committee on your progress and research plans. Reports are signed by you and your Principal Supervisor and submitted through the faculty committee, Head of School /Director of the Centre or nominee to the Research Students Centre for consideration by the Research Degrees Committee.

Enrolment

As a continuing student you must re-enrol each year via QUT Virtual where you can also view and check your enrolment.  Failure to do so will result in your candidature becoming inactive and lead to your being discontinued from your course. As an inactive student you will not be eligible to access resources and services that you will require during candidature.
