QUT's most prestigious scholarships are the APA/Institute Awards that are offered by the four Institutes. These scholarships would be worth up to $36,000pa for up to three years for doctoral students. To be eligible for an APA/Institute scholarship, an applicant would need an interdisciplinary thesis topic that fits within the research interests of an Institute. (To learn more about the Institute areas of research interest, please visit http://www.qut.edu.au/research/institutes/.) An interdisciplinary topic involves a QUT Principal and Associate Supervisor from different disciplines and therefore, in most cases, different Faculties. The relevant Institute Director would make the final decision on the eligibility of a thesis topic.
