The Owen J Wordsworth Scholarship (OJW) is funded by QUT'S Research Budget and is awarded to provide financial support to the highest ranked domestic Masters by Research applicant in QUT's Annual Domestic Research Scholarship Round.
- Basic Eligibility Requirements (Please consult the OJW Rules for the full listing of eligibility requirements)
- The OJW is available to Australian citizens and permanent residents (including NZ citizens) undertaking a Masters by Research degree.
- The OJW can only be awarded to an applicant who has completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement and has normally obtained a minimum Honours 2A, or is determined as having an equivalent level of academic attainment through previous study, relevant work experience, research publications and other research experience.
- The OJW is only offered to students who are commencing their Masters by Research degree. The OJW is not available to students who are currently enrolled in their Masters by Research degree.
- The OJW recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student, unless QUT has approved a part-time OJW as under section 3 of the OJW Rules.
- Amount
- The 2008 OJW rate is $20,007pa, tax exempt, which is paid in fortnightly payments of $766.87. These amounts are indexed annually.
- The OJW also provides a relocation allowance of up to $1,455 for eligible students.
- The OJW also provides a thesis allowance of up to $420 for eligible students.
- Duration
- The OJW is awarded for up to two years.
