A scholarship agreement is usually required where business / industry / government funds a Postgraduate Research Student Scholarship.  The agreement defines how the funding will be provided and any conditions made by business/industry/government regarding provision of those funds (i.e., confidentiality clauses; intellectual property; reporting; invoicing etc.) Still not sure?

Features of a Postgraduate Research Student Scholarship

  • It may be offered for research on and off campus involving QUT staff and students
  • Revenue is classified as reportable to DEST as Research Income
  • Scholarships fund Postgraduate Research Students, doing a PhD, Research Masters or Professional Doctorate by Research
  • Students are enrolled at QUT under the relevant course and student rules/policies/procedure

In setting up a scholarship agreement you need to get advice and assistance from the relevant office.
